URSSAF

The Union pour le Recouvrement des cotisations de Sécurité Sociale et d'Allocations Familiales is a quasi-state body governed by private law. It collects payments and contributions mainly meant for financing the general Social Security scheme. The Urssafs are organised around four main areas of activity: registration and management of contributors’ accounts, collection of payments and contributions, monitoring and legal.

AGIRC

Association Générale des Institutions de Retraite des Cadres. Set up in 1947, the AGIRC is a unique and compulsory inter-professional scheme for complementary retirement of managers of the private sector.

ARRCO

The Association des Régimes de Retraite COmplémentaires was set up in 1961 to coordinate the various exiting schemes and extend compulsory complementary retirement coverage to all non-management employees in the commercial and industrial sectors. ARCCO is a unique scheme since 1 January 1999, with the same point value for all affiliates (management and non-management).

ASSEDIC

The ASSociation pour l'Emploi dans l'Industrie et le Commerce fulfils four main missions: recover contributions of companies and employees, register jobseekers, compensate them, promote the return back to work as soon as possible. In Île-de-France, these missions are carried out by a unique body, the GARP (Groupement des Assedic de la Région Parisienne).

UNEDIC

The UNEDIC (Union Nationale interprofessionnelle pour l'Emploi Dans l'Industrie et le Commerce) sets up the regulation of the Unemployment Insurance agreed by social partners, provides to the network the means to implement it, sees to the proper functioning of the entire set up and to equality of treatment for all job seekers, analyses information relating to employment and unemployment and takes care of the financial management of all of these.
